Claycasein colours
Claycasein colours do not come from a chart: clay floor colours are mixed here in the bucket. They emerge from the Base and up to 10 % earth and mineral pigments, mixed anew from project to project. Grey is not just grey: Claycasein plays with the light in the room. Here you see what has already been realised.

Claycasein colours at a glance
Claycasein colours emerge from the Base, the clay brown base tone, and up to 10 % earth and mineral pigments. There is no colour chart: every shade is mixed anew for the project. The number after the name stands for the pigment share or the blend.
- Already realised: Base, Beige 05 and 10, Sand, Grau 5.1, 9.5.05, 50.50, 60.40 and 80.20, Schwarz 04 and 10, Erdanthrazit, Chromoxidgrün, Spinellgrün, Goldocker, Ocker Rot, Rot 05, Terra di Siena, Umbragrün, Gelb 420.10 and Ultramarinblau 10
- Pigments: non-toxic and lime-fast, up to 10 %, and they can be blended with each other
- Your own shade: on request we deliver ready pigmented, with lead time and excluded from exchange
- Sample board: approx. 15 x 23 cm on plywood, 10 € plus VAT, free if returned within 14 days
- Important: substrate, light and application change the shade. Always lay a test area under site conditions

Clay floor colours that already exist
The number after the name is the pigment share or the mix. Base without pigment has the liveliest texture, lighter and darker browns alternate. We are happy to tell you the pigment ratios. Sample boards exist for some of the shades, please ask.
Shades from our own palette
Every shade you see here we mix ourselves from the Base and up to 10 % earth and mineral pigments. That is how blends like Grau 80.20 come about, from Beige 10 and Grau 5.1. A custom shade outside our palette you mix yourself: we supply the pigments, and pigmented material can be blended. Base and pigments are natural raw materials, so small differences between batches are possible and are not a defect. Mixed your own shade? Send us photos with the pigment and the percentage, that way the palette grows for everyone. The price list for earth and mineral pigments is being revised.

First the sample, then the surface
The cloudy character only shows on the larger surface. With the sample box you lay your own test area under on-site conditions.
Surface sample
- Sample board about 15 x 23 cm on plywood
- Colour subject to availability
- Shows the colour direction, not the character of the full surface
For your own test area: the sample box with Base 3 kg and all accessories, 142.80 € plus VAT and plus shipping.

Questions about colours and samples
Colour charts, your own blend, sample boards and finished surfaces to visit.
Which colours are there, is there a colour chart?
We do not have a colour chart. The colours emerge from project to project, many as our customers own creations. The base colour is clay brown, and the Base can be tinted with up to 10 % earth and mineral pigments. What has already been realised you will see on the Colours page. Depending on substrate and application the shades can deviate, so always lay a sample under on-site conditions.
Can I mix my own colour?
Only up to a point. We mix our own shades, the ones you see in the grid. A custom shade outside our palette you mix yourself: we supply lime-fast earth and mineral pigments, you add up to 10 % to the Base, and pigmented material can be blended. We are happy to tell you the pigment share of our own shades. Mixed your own? Send us photos with the pigment and the percentage.
Are there free surface samples?
Yes, if you send them back undamaged within 14 days. Otherwise a sample board costs 10 € plus VAT. The samples are trowelled on plywood, about 15 x 23 cm, and show the colour direction. You will not necessarily see the cloudy character of a large surface on the small board. Colour samples subject to availability, please ask. What already exists: see the colours.
Can I see a finished floor somewhere?
Maybe, if there is a project near you: quite a few have been done, and we are happy to look. Write to us via the contact form with the topic "Visit a project" and your town. More on the Club Claycasein page.

Mixed in Balingen, not picked from a fan deck
Every shade is mixed by hand at RENNER in Balingen: Base plus pigment, weighed out for your project. Base and pigments are natural raw materials, so small differences from batch to batch belong to the material and are not a defect. That is why we suggest two steps: first the sample board for the direction, then your own test area in the room. Only there do you see how the shade works with your light and your substrate. Send us photos of your own blends, that way the palette grows for everyone.
Which shade fits your room?
Send us photos of the room and tell us where it should go. We will suggest colours that fit.
